Shoes after Bunion surgery

After years of unsightly bunions and pain, I am having surgery on both feet in the next 2 months. Has anyone had surgery & know if sneakers & oxfords are the only options for footwear? Can someone post surgery ever wear heels again? Do I continue w/wide shoes or can I wear non-narrow pointy shoes type shoes? I am only 37 and would like a fashionable show for evening some times. Luckily I don't work outside the home at the time so I can get away w/sneakers or casual shoes for day time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
